The unique characteristics of patterns communicates local cultural information and shows the connection within the local community and its relation with nature. This connection and its strength for the first time experienced during my two and a half year stay in the Amazon base of Peru- is my motive to realize this art project with patterns in a contemporary urban form.

"All the designs together get an architectural look through its composition and at the same time they manifest a folkloric feeling."
Nowadays there is hardly any visual expression of local culture at urban locations, as formerly was the case with traditional costumes. With the increase of cultural diversity, these kinds of local rites have slowly disappeared. This does not mean that people no longer connect with each other, but that they have less of a tendency to connect locally by means of a visual language.
What is nature that surrounds the city's person?
A common denominator of a city dweller is architecture.
Patterns are carriers of locally based information and show their origin. I would like to connect local communities with Amsterdam Patterns by giving them a pattern of the living environment. These can play a role in the connection between the residents and by recognition in, for example with fashion and tattoos.
The idea of the work is a visual proposal to the city in relation to an interactive platform with resonant patterns.
